New product

I am experimenting with slide shows that I will be able to offer to customers, for portrait and weddings. This is a first attempt. They are available for internet use as well as on DVDs

Below are two different methods of displaying the presentations The top one is streamed at higher resolution from a different server that charges yearly for this service. The second one is a lower resolution and is provided by e blogger

Relationship Photos

This is my fifth year doing Christeens family Christmas photos. I still do the look at the camera and smile type of photos but am including more relationship type of photography as well . This is my favorite so far.

Newborns

In the last month I have photographed 2 newborns. The first one was easy but the second one as the grandmother put it , She was fussy.

Also purchased a plug-in for photoshop that adds borders to the photographs. I like the effect but my customers are so, so about it

P.S. I am now offering gift certificates for maternity and newborn portraits

Figure Skating Test Shots

As usual its been a while since I have added anything, its been a busy few months. Ended the fall doing weddings for Studio Studios. Four altogether, in Milton, Alliston, Keswick and Newmarket. Fall weddings are getting very popular.
Did photos of Tapps Performing Arts instructors for their new web page and at the same time tested a background and lighting setup to use for figure skating. My model did great.
Too much photo-shopping required on these but I have the basic setup figured out.

Demolition Derby ( Orillia Fall Fair )

Some Photos from the demolition derby at this years Orillia Fall Fair
Before and After and a few in between

Village Of The Arts

I helped setup and take down the Orillia Camera Club display at this years Village Of The Arts. I did not stay for the event as I wanted to take pictures at the demolition derby at this years fall fair but I understand they had a good turnout.
This is the 2nd year for The village Of The Arts and this year they closed off one block of Mississaga St W and put up 3 large tents in one of the city parking lots to show local artists , musicians , writers, actors, and dancers during the day At night they had live performances at the Opera House

Interesting Carvings

Photos taken on the Mt St Louis Side Rd just before you cross over the 400 highway. I thought they were interesting. There is about 7 or 8 of them but I think they are adding more all the time.

Orillia Classic Car Show

Got up early and photographed some of the cars attending this years Orillia Classic Car Show. Organizers expected close to 450 cars this year. They started parking about 5:30 am and to get pictures without people this was the time to start. It would have been nice if the street lights had stayed on longer.
I photographed till about 8:30 am and went home and printed half a dozen pictures. The Custom Frameworks on Mississaga St displayed these in there front window and handled sales

HDR Workshop at Wye Marsh

Took a photo workshop on doing High Dynamic Range photographs at the Wye Marsh in Midland this weekend, taught by John Davidson http://www.johndavidsonphotography.com/
HDR lets you blend several exposures together into one photograph and retain detail in the shadows and highlights that a single exposure could not reproduce. The following image was taken looking into the sun and manipulated on the computer to create an HDR image, The second image is what you would get with a single regular camera exposure.

Following are some other images from the weekend as I practice this technique, You can give the images a more surreal look or a traditional feel. I like the bumped sharpness /contrast and the more surreal look

Last two pictures taken in Coldwater on the way home.

Ride For Dad

Taking a break from printing photos I went out and took a few pictures at the Ride For Dad event this spring. This years Orillia Ride For Dad had approximately 800 riders and raised over $80,000 for prostate cancer research

Top photo was the best wave I got, second photo I liked the handle bars on the bike and thought it had a nostalgic look when converted to black and white

Photos From Penny and Ryans Wedding

These are a few of the pictures. I did a combination of posed and candid photography
