Wedding
After a hectic season of photographing dance competitions and schools I had decided not to shoot any weddings for Studio Studios this year but did agree to help out if they got stuck for a shooter.
The last 4 years I did a wedding every weekend during the spring, summer, fall as well as working a regular job during the week and I wanted a bit of time to work on some projects of my own, anyway I agree to shoot this wedding in Barrie for Studio Studios.
The wedding reception is at the Barrie Country Club but the wedding will take place on Wassaga Beach. Can you see where this is going?
After photographing the bride and parents at their home I head for the beach, its been cloudy and as you can expect it starts to rain. By the time I get there the wind has picked up and whitecaps are on the water and its not just a rain its a downpour.
When I arrive the guests, bussed there from Barrie, are still on the buses , someone is talking to the bride on a cell phone, everyone expects the wedding to be moved back to the country club .A lot of brides would have been crying by this time but spending her summer on the beach this has been her dream and this is where the wedding is going to be. In spite of the weather it is Great, everyone huddle together under their umbrellas and crowd around the bride and groom on the beach. The women are holding their shoes in their hands, a lot of people are barefooted
. Every one is smiling,This is the wedding everyone will remember and talk about for years to come.
